Luke is good but as people have mentioned before he really needs the defender team synergy. His counter, like Xbones, is also useful but I'll admit his attacks are weak af. His taunt is decent too because it heals and gives counter, which I noticed stops chain attacks a lot of the time.ĭrax is good because he comes in with taunt and I can usually end the battle (or be in a winning position) by the time his 2 turns of taunt is up. Xbones I know is not an actual TANK tank, but his nuke is crazy and his deathproof comes in handy. Personally I would say Xbones and Drax because they are the only other tanks I use (and have access to). I'd probably swap Merc Guard out for Hand Sentry, since HS fits with so many line-ups whereas MG, for all his tankiness, doesn't really factor in anywhere. I don't think he'd make the top 3, but Brotherhood isn't seeing wide use yet.Įdit 2: CRAP! I forgot about Hand Sentry too. From there, I think Captain America clearly stands out from the rest - high block chance, taunt, team-wide defense up, energy generation, dispel, etc.Įdit: Just realized I completely forgot about Juggernaut. So evaluating based on the meta, you'd have to put Luke Cage and SHIELD Security into your top three. The top two widespread meta teams are SHIELD and Defenders. That first round starting taunt is unique and valuable, but that's his whole game. Merc Riot Guard is a tremendous pure tank, but he just doesn't fit into any of the meta line-ups. Now if we were evaluating in terms of the current meta and who actually is useful, I'd swap Merc Riot Guard out for one of the meta tanks - Thanos or Luke Cage, mostly likely. Evaluating all the tanks in a vacuum, these guys are the three toughest pure tanks in the game IMO. Since there wasn't any context provided, I didn't use any in my evaluation.
